An agriculture equipment manufacturer and leader in spray drift reduction technology faced challenges as they sought to expand their sales team. Before partnering with AgHires, all sales efforts were concentrated in a single northern state, limiting their ability to effectively engage with current dealers in the Midwest and southern regions. The company needed to hire high-drive sales individuals who could build relationships with their existing dealer network in addition to prospecting new sales. While the newly hired Southern Territory Sales Reps would be hired to work remotely, the client preferred a newly hired Midwest Sales Rep to report on-site to headquarters. The client found that this posed a challenge in the Midwest and severely limited the interest, resulting in a constrained candidate pool.

After an in-depth discovery meeting with the ag equipment company’s team to further understand their hiring challenges, our ag recruitment team developed a highly targeted strategy for the client. Within the first two weeks of analyzing the candidate market, the AgHires recruitment team identified the need for flexibility in the hiring approach and proposed a shift towards fully remote roles for the new sales positions. This solution allowed us to tap into a broader, more engaged and talented candidate pool, allowing us and the client to be more selective in the hire.
To enhance the candidates’ experience and incorporate the company’s value of personal interactions, we also introduced recorded video interviews for the first round of candidate screenings with the recruiter. This tailored approach provided a personal touch that resonated positively with the company’s team, while also significantly streamlining the interview process.
Results
The ag equipment company’s exceptional communication and timely feedback paired with our agricultural recruitment team’s diligence resulted in one Sales Representative hired within 30 days plus two additional Sales Representatives hired within 45 days. The three new hires now allow the agriculture equipment company to better utilize existing dealers and expand sales in additional regions throughout the United States.
