With the new year quickly approaching, it is the perfect time to start looking for a new job or to continue your current job search a little more aggressively. It can be easy to put your search on hold during the holidays, but it’s important that you get your momentum back as we head into January.

While the end of the year can be slow when it comes to hiring, the start of the new year is quite the opposite. At the end of the year, companies are wrapping up and budgets may be maxed out. However, once the new year starts, the new budget is in place and companies are ready to move forward.

The months of January and February typically generate the strongest hiring period of the year. Companies are kicking off new projects and initiatives, budgets are put into place, and additional staff is needed to carry out the company’s plans.

A lot of people tend to put their job hunt on hold around the holidays, so it is the perfect opportunity for you to take advantage of the situation. By submitting applications right away at the beginning of the new year, you show your interest and will be one of the first people that potential employers see.

If you remain active in your job search, you’ll maintain your energy and enthusiasm, which are two traits that employers look for and love. Don’t let your momentum die out and keep up the job hunting!  Start your agricultural career search now.
