Florida is responsible for 63% of the nation’s total citrus production. They rank second in the nation for vegetable production and is also number two in the U.S. for the production of greenhouse and nursery products. The state’s top crops include oranges, grapefruit, bell peppers, sugarcane, fresh market tomatoes, squash, and sweet corn.
Beyond produce, the state is also a major contributor to livestock production. They rank 12th in the nation for beef cows and 18th in total cattle. Florida also ranks 18th in forestry, field crops, and agricultural exports. In 2012, Florida ranked number 8 for agricultural exports.
