Urban Farming Market

The Vertical Urban Farming Market is expected to grow by 384% in the next five years.

Vertical urban farming is the practice of growing food in vertically stacked layers, typically in buildings such as skyscrapers or warehouses. Indoor farming techniques and controlled-environmental agriculture technology is used. This allows environmental elements to be controlled, making it possible to grow several different types of crops. The market of vertical farming is expected to grow by 384% in the next five years.

With new developments in technology, vertical farms are able to utilize artificial control of light and control over the humidity temperature, and gases within the facility. Vertical farming increases automation, reduces emissions, and reduces costs.

With the rapidly growing world population, the agriculture industry has to quickly adapt and adopt new methods to meet the demand for more food. Vertical farming is quickly gaining momentum, and it looks like is going to be one of the farming methods of the future.
