Adell Cooperative is now seeking an Agronomy Commercial Applicator to join our team in Adell, WI! 

What you'll be doing :

  • Application of fertilizers and chemicals per specifications.
  • Responsible for a basic understanding of all chemicals, fertilizers, and their abilities of control. You must be willing to ask questions to ensure safe, productive, and efficient application.
  • Accurately read and follow safety PPE recommendations regarding chemicals and fertilizer labeling.
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks by organizing orders from patrons in the most efficient manner.
  • Accurately mixes, loads, and delivers products to our cooperative patrons in a timely manner.

What it takes to be successful :

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver's License and have or ability or obtain a Commercial Class A CDL license
  • Have or ability to obtain a WI Commercial Pesticide Applicator's License
  • Must have proficient computer operation skills.

Feedlot Manager for Amana Farms

A little about the business: Welcome to Amana Farms! One of Iowa’s largest contiguous farms, the Amana Farms is made up of 26,000 acres with award-winning crop fields, a 2,000 cow/calf herd, a 4,000 head cattle feedlot, an anaerobic digester, and Iowa’s largest privately held forest. We are located in Homestead, IA (about 20 miles Northwest of Iowa City, IA).

We are hiring a Feedlot Manager who will provide all care and management to a functioning cattle feed yard. This person is responsible for ensuring healthy and comfortable cattle, and that all facilities and equipment associated with the feedlot are properly maintained. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Prioritize and coordinate daily tasks for feedlot associates.
  • Ensure proper feeding, watering, bedding, weaning, branding, moving, loading and shipping of cattle.
  • Identify maintenance needs for equipment and yard; ensure all feeding equipment, tractors, and other implements are operating efficiently.
  • Create standard operating procedures for essential feed lot job duties.
  • Provide weekly written status reports to the Beef Division Manager and General Manager; communicate and work closely with Beef Division Manager, other Herd Supervisors, feedlot staff, as well as Crop and Forestry employees.

Requirements:

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and skills
  • Minimum of three years’ experience with cattle and feeding equipment.
  • Minimum of two years supervisory or management experience.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Private Pesticide Applicator Certification or willingness to obtain preferred.
  • Valid Iowa driver’s license or ability to obtain one.

We offer competitive compensation of $80,000 - $105,000 depending on experience, health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid vacation, sick leave, bonuses (up to $15,000 annually), and more.

  • Sharing with training of your knowledge to customers and coworkers to build our team.
  • Troubleshooting along with analyzing information for the solution.

This job is for you if you have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience servicing and/or maintaining diesel equipment
  • Troubleshooting / Diagnostics skills.
  • Knowledge with Gasoline and small Diesel engines, electrical systems and hydraulic systems.

Skills for Success:

  • Previous experience in the agriculture industry such as agronomy, crop science, ag technology, plant and soil health, and precision agriculture
  • Ability to travel to meet with clients across the state (and beyond as required)
  • Ag SaaS sales and solution selling experience and data management systems
  • Strong networking and relationship-building abilities

Chemical Process Engineer for Verbio

A little about the business: The Verbio Nevada Biorefinery is the first industrial scale renewable natural gas (RNG) facility in North America using agricultural residues as its feedstock. The plant is 100% owned by Verbio North America Holdings Corporation.

The Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes and systems. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that production processes are efficient, effective, and meet quality standards. The Process Engineer will also be responsible for project management, operations support, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, plan, execute and implement process projects (up to $2M USD), including assessment of results
  • Support plant Project Manager from the process side
  • Alignment with plant and operations excellence teams
  • Provides oversight of installation, startup and performance testing of multiple projects concurrently
  • Track and report on process project progress
  • Train plant team in operating procedure developments

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven Project Management skills
  • In-field operations support experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required, Chemical preferred
  • 5+ years of engineering experience ideally within chemical, oil or ethanol industry
