Farm Manager for Lennard Ag Co.

Be part of something bigger! Work for a large operation with progressive practices. We’re growing and hiring a full-time, year-round, Farm Manager to our team for our Chillicothe, Ohio location. You will be managing the success of our this location which grows 1,000 acres of irrigated potatoes. You will be in a hands-on role working independently for part of the year and leading the field teams during planting, growing and harvesting. You will also be responsible for running irrigation and ensuring appropriate water and fertigation. During the off-season you will be preparing for the upcoming season. We share labor between farms.

What you would be doing: 

  • Lead individuals and teams in the operational planting, growing, and harvesting of a variety of crops
  • Coordinate with the agronomy team on plant health and agronomic plan for the season
  • Coordinate with local ag retail locations on spray program
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and works on shared equipment and personnel coordination with other locations
  • Collect and assess operational data to assist leadership in improving organizational efficiency

This position is for you if you:

  • Bring mechanical ability and can work on and operate farm and/or heavy equipment
  • Are looking to manage your own location
  • Are comfortable working independently for approximately half the year and leading a team with peak hours during spring (planting) and fall (harvest)
We offer compensation highly dependent on your background and experience. Benefits include health & dental insurance, paid time off, disability benefits and life insurance. This position does have peak hours during plant and harvest including long hours and weekends but sticks to a 40-45 hour work week during the winter months.

Service Technician for NEXAT

As the Service Technician, you will travel to farms in Nebraska and Iowa to operate and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs on the ag machinery.

What you would be doing: 

  • Carrying out repair and conversion work on our agricultural machinery in the field of mechanics, hydraulics and on electronic components in the national and international environment
  • Expert contact for colleagues and customers
  • Communication of your service calls and test results towards construction
  • Carrying out product training and instruction in an international environment

What you bring with you:

  • Completed training as an agricultural or construction machinery mechatronics technician or automotive mechatronics technician, or preferably a technician or bachelor’s degree
  • Hands-on experience in agriculture/engineering or comparable industry
  • Very good knowledge in vehicle electrics, mechanics, hydraulics as well as in dealing with computer-aided diagnostic systems
  • Distinct service orientation as well as a high level of commitment and willingness to travel

Process Engineer for Verbio

A little about the business: Verbio acquired South Bend Ethanol, LLC, an operating ethanol plant located in South Bend, Indiana. As a global leader in the renewable energy industry, this will be Verbio’s second US production facility following the successful commissioning of its Nevada, IA plant. The site will be developed over the next three years incorporating Verbio’s advanced engineering and operating technology practices. Verbio intends to expand and develop the plant into a modern biorefinery at an estimated total investment of $230 million.

The Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes and systems. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that production processes are efficient, effective, and meet quality standards. The Process Engineer will also be responsible for project management, operations support, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you would be doing: 

  • Identify, plan, execute and implement process projects (up to $2M USD), including assessment of results
  • Support plant Project Manager from the process side
  • Alignment with plant and operations excellence teams
  • Provides oversight of installation, startup and performance testing of multiple projects concurrently
  • Track and report on process project progress
  • Train plant team in operating procedure developments

    What we're looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required, Chemical preferred
  • 5+ years of engineering experience ideally within chemical, oil or ethanol industry
  • Proven Project Management skills
  • In-field operations support experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or related field, preferred
  • Minimum of five years grain experience
  • Experience in management
  • Must have a valid Driver License and clean MVR for five years
  • Must follow all COFC Safety Rules
  • Must be able to work at heights
