Farm Operations Manager for Hemdale Farms & Greenhouses

We are hiring a Farm Operations Manager to join our team in Clifton Springs, NY (about 30 miles southeast of Rochester). In this role you will be assisting in managing all day-to-day farm and agricultural operations. This will include managing fields, personnel, coordinating tasks, and ensuring farm productivity and safety.

What you will be doing:

  • Oversee and manage daily farming operations in the field.
  • Manage, lead, and coordinate a team.
  • Manage resources such as labor, equipment, and materials effectively.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems that arise on the farm.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed and enforce a culture of safety across all teams.
  • Manage production processes related to dairy, vegetable crops, and specialty crops.

This job is for you if you have:

  • At least 2 years of agricultural, farming, crops, or relatable experience.
  • Previous experience managing a team.

R&D Engineer for Shoup Manufacturing

A little about the business: Shoup Manufacturing launched the business of manufacturing, marketing and distributing quality replacement parts for farm equipment directly to the American farmer in 1977. The product line began with less than 50 items and a single page flyer distributed at a farm trade show. Today, Shoup markets thousands of replacement parts and accessories for combines, planters, grain drills, tractors, balers, cultivators, rippers, forage harvesters, sprayers and more. Shoup’s original concept of providing high quality products and great customer service at a fair price remains the same today as when the business was founded.

We are looking to add a Research & Development Engineer to our existing R&D Team. Led by the Director of R&D, the ideal candidate will be responsible for applying their knowledge and experience of engineering technology to current business practices, while also introducing innovative ideas for product development.

Responsibilities:

  •  Design agricultural machinery components.
  • Conduct battery of tests on new products to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
  • Work to decrease time to market for new products.
  • Review and assist with research for new product opportunities.
  • Work closely with manufacturing to bring into production components and/or systems efficiently and on time.
  • Support customer service to resolve customer questions and concerns.

Requirements:

  •  Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline related to mechanical design or agriculture systems. Work experience equivalent will be considered.
  • Experience using Solidworks, CREO, or other design software.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn 3D printing.
  • Experience working in a team environment across multiple departments, including but not limited to quality; purchasing; engineering; manufacturing.
  • General knowledge of quality principles.

Production Manager for Home Place Pastures

We are hiring a Production Manager that will oversee the production of our USDA harvest and processing facility in Como, MS, just south of Memphis, TN. You will aid in the production of high-quality, ethically raised meats while upholding company values. In this role, you will oversee daily processing operations, SOP compliance, efficiency improvement, and full oversight of the food safety program. You will utilize a production software system and provide floor presence and leadership. You will directly oversee 12 individuals, providing hands-on support. The facility is a 10k square foot meat processing plant with cold storage space.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee daily processing operations, ensuring compliance with HACCP, Humane Handling Plan, SOPs, SSOPs, and food safety records
  • Lead workflow standardization, quality control, and employee training
  • Manage lotting, labeling, packaging, and SKU specifications
  • Develop and maintain equipment operations and preventative maintenance plans
  • Conduct product sampling and testing (Weekly carcass samples, monthly water testing, etc.)

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Preferred experience in meat/food processing, food safety, food production or manufacturing, or a related agriculture industry
  • Proven management experience in food, manufacturing, or production
  • Strong technology skills including knowledge of production software systems
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and strong leadership capabilities
  • Passion for local food systems and regenerative agriculture

Farmhand/Equipment Operator for Arden Home Owners Association

We’re currently hiring a Farmhand – Equipment Operator to join our team in Loxahatchee, FL (about 35 miles northwest of Boca Raton). In this role you will be assisting the Farm Director with vegetable, fruit, and herb production, including tasks like seeding, planting, pest and disease management, fertility management, field cultivation, irrigation planning, installation, repairs, harvesting, and post-harvesting handling.

What you will be doing:

  • Assist the Farm Director with vegetable, fruit, and herb production, including tasks like seeding, planting, pest and disease management, fertility management, field cultivation, irrigation planning, installation, repairs, harvesting, and post-harvest handling.
  • Manage the daily harvest for CSA pickups in the barn during the farm season (November to May).
  • Maintain farm infrastructure and landscape with support from contracted vendors, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness in the store, barn, and surrounding areas.
  • Lead gardening workshops and farm-to-table events for the community.
  • Conduct farm and General Store tours for visitors.
  • Provide excellent customer service both in-person and by phone.

This job is for you if you have:

  • Prior experience in organic vegetable production (on a similar or larger scale) and farming in a tropical/subtropical climate.
  • Experience operating farm and agriculture equipment such as a tractor or the ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, stand for extended periods, and lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends (1-2 times a month).
  • Dependable and punctual.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for sustainable and local agriculture.
  • Problem-solving mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement, willingness to learn, and open to constructive feedback.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a bonus.
  • Experience with crop irrigation systems is preferred but not required.
