Director of Sow Production for Hord Family Farms

A little about the business: Hord Family Farms, headquartered in North Central Ohio, is in its 5th generation of family farming, with over 100 years of farming heritage. With satellite locations in Pennsylvania and Minnesota, Hord Farms is a pig, cow, and grain farm. Collectively, we market over 1.3 million pigs per year. We strive to raise our animals with care and utilize modern and advanced farming practices to be efficient and sustainable.

We are looking for a Director of Sow Production to oversee four of our locations in the Bucyrus, Ohio area, with no more than a 25-minute drive to the furthest farm. You will lead 4 Farm Managers and indirectly, 40 farm employees to meet our production goals, maintain biosecurity, and achieve KPIs.

What You Will Do....

  • Lead by example, embodying Hord’s culture, vision, and core values to inspire teams and align practices with company goals.
  • Mentor and coach farm leaders, setting clear expectations and fostering team growth.
  • Plan and oversee production goals and targets, ensuring adherence to SOPs and high operational standards.
  • Monitor farm performance using data, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Anticipate and address challenges, including team member challenges and biosecurity threats.
  • Drive innovation, efficiency, and compliance with production, safety and biosecurity procedures.

What you will bring...

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Animal Science or a related field preferred
  • A collaborative style and relationship-building skills with strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities
  • High level of detail, self-motivation, and organization to achieve quality results, with the ability to manage a variety of key initiatives concurrently

Chief Financial Officer for Jorgensen Land & Cattle

A little about the business: Jorgensen Land & Cattle is a fourth-generation family-owned and operated farm and ranch located in Ideal, South Dakota. Jorgensen Land & Cattle is a diversified operation encompassing these core enterprises: Angus and commercial seed stock production, an advanced bull leasing program, no-till crop production and commercial pheasant hunting.

Jorgensen Land & Cattle is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead and oversee the company’s financial operations. This key leadership role is responsible for producing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, with direct oversight of financial statements, budgeting, and cost accounting. The CFO will provide financial forecasting and modeling, while managing an internal bookkeeper and coordinating with a third-party accounting vendor. Based in Ideal, SD, this position will support and coordinate financials across five distinct divisions operating under two separate business entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support office staff of one bookkeeper and the relationship with an external regional firm
  • Handle inventory tracking software and QuickBooks
  • Prepare full financial statement and records monthly, quarterly, and annually
  • Handle all cost accounting, budgeting, and financial planning
  • Assist with budgeting, financial modeling and forecasting
  • Manage relationships with external lenders
  • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure a smooth flow of operations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Agribusiness Management, or a related field is preferred
  • Proven experience in accounting, financial modeling, financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, and data analytics
  • Strong understanding of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, inventory tracking systems, and PowerBI
  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment

Director of Supply Chain for True Organic Products

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement multi-year strategic sourcing and category management plans to reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) while ensuring supply continuity.
  • Lead advanced negotiations and contracting processes to secure competitive pricing, optimal service levels, and risk management.
  • Establish standardized procurement processes, approval matrices, and workflows to enhance speed, control, and compliance.
  • Drive cost-savings initiatives by creating and executing a pipeline of value-engineering projects, tracking savings versus forecasts.
  • Oversee supplier relationship management, setting KPIs/SLAs, conducting quarterly business reviews, and fostering innovation partnerships.
  • Apply financial and data analysis to inform decision-making, utilizing cost modeling, sensitivity analyses, and scenario planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management within the agriculture, fertilizer, or related manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, procurement process design, cost-savings leadership, and supplier relationship management.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as Decom, SAP, Oracle, and advanced analytics tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills.
  • High integrity, clear communication style, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

Dairy Feed Manager for Donnan Farms Inc.

We are hiring a full-time Dairy Feed Manager for our dairy farm in Piffard, NY. In this role you will be responsible for feed accuracy of delivery, loading, and timing.  We have the ability and expectation to train and develop the successful candidate to a level of exceptional performance. This position works closely with the owners and other members of the management team. Our team leaders are ambitious and motivated with a 'can do' attitude, take pride in their work and strive for excellence daily.  

Responsibilities:

  • Managing and Coordinating bunk faces
  • Managing a team of two to three people
  • Machine and Equipment maintenance
  • Follow procedures for TMR, mixing time, quality and ordering of ingredients
  • Operating mixer tractor with wagon, defacer and loader
  • Use feed software and communication via email
  • Maintaining feed bunk area cleanliness
  • Twice weekly dry matter checks and feed refusal management
  • Commodity inventory management with farm’s nutritionist

Requirements: 

  • English preferred with some Spanish
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to manage a team of employees
  • Experience Operating a Loader, mixer tractors with wagons
  •  Experience backing up with large trailers preferred
  • The position is physical, and the candidate must be able to lift at least 50lbs, and be comfortable walking, crouching, bending.
  • Reliable transportation is REQUIRED to be considered for the position.

We offer a competitive hourly wage with 55-65 hours per week (10 hour shift, 6 days a week, some holidays) along with accuracy and maintenance bonus and paid vacation.
