A tomato tree has broken a new world record. The  tree breaking the world record can be seen in Epcot’s Land Pavilion at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.  The tree broke the record for the most tomatoes harvested from a single plant in one year.  The previous record listed in the Guinness World Records was 488 tomatoes from one stem during a 2010 harvest in the United Kingdom.  The tomato tree at Walt Disney World had a one-year harvest of 32,000 tomatoes, weighing in at a total of 1,151.84 pounds. The crown of the tree grows to about 538 square foot.

An Heirloom Tomato tree takes about 1.5 years to reach its full size and starts growing fruit about 7 months after being planted.  The normal harvest of an heirloom tomato tree is around 14,000 tomatoes.

You can see the record breaking tomato tree by visiting Epcot at Walt Disney in Orlando, Florida where you can ride a boat tour through the greenhouses in the Land Pavillion.
