Pig Care Technician for Lone Tree Pigs

A little about the business: Lone Tree Pigs is a diversified farm producing row crops on our 2,000 acre farm and high health piglets in our farrow-to-wean hog operation. 

What you would be doing:

  • Overall care and processing of pregnant/farrowing sows and their piglets
  • Sow and piglet feeding and nutrition management
  • Routine and seasonal piglet and sow vaccinations and injections
  • Perform breeding/insemination processes
  • Monitor, test, and care for pregnant sows
  • Animal feeding and nutrition management

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma desired
  • Ability to do basic math-addition, subtraction, and multiplication
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Swine industry experience preferred, but not required
  • Regular, consistent attendance

Independent Seed Sales Representative for Stine Seed

A little about the business: Welcome to Stine Seed Company! We are the country’s largest privately-owned seed company, specializing in soybean and corn genetics, headquartered in Adel, Iowa. What you would be doing: 

  • Serve as primary ambassador of the Stine brand within the assigned territory 
  • Develop and maintain a thorough agronomic and technical knowledge of Stine seed products and services applicable to the assigned territory 
  • Proactively seek new and profitable grower accounts to drive business growth; continually develop relationships within your community  
  • Understand and implement marketing initiatives while driving key products and services in key target markets   
  • Communicate and implement Stine’s sales programs and policies within the assigned territory in order to meet sales goals for the district  

Qualifications: 

  • Three or more years of sales experience; preferably in agriculture, agronomy, seed and/or ag equipment   
  • Prior success in relationship sales with a longer sales cycle  
  • Demonstrated knowledge of proven sales techniques, as well as excellent negotiating skills and the ability to overcome obstacles.  
  • Self-starter who can develop daily and weekly goals with little direction  
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with growers by understanding their needs and values and achieve desired results

Farm Shop Supervisor for Sandy Knoll Farms

A little about the business: Sandy Knoll Farms is a family-owned and operated farm going back five generations. Today we farm 2,000 acres in Orleans County, New York focusing on crop production, raising apples, corn, soybeans and wheat.

What you would be doing:

  • High School diploma; Ag Technology or Diesel Technology certifications or Associate’s degree a plus
  • Class A Driver’s license (CDL) or willingness to obtain
  • NYS DEC Pesticide Applicator permit or willingness to obtain
  • Experience in farming/crop production, construction, heavy equipment/machine operator, mechanic shop equivalent or combination of education, agriculture and mechanics required
  • Working knowledge of the agriculture industry
  • Physical ability to operate, lift and move heavy equipment required

Head Grower for Kalera

A little about the business: Kalera grows indoor, clean, safe, and healthy leafy greens using science and technology to grow the very best possible produce. Be part of their newest and largest facility with 83,000 sq ft and producing over 14 million heads of lettuce per year for grocery retailers and foodservice.

What you would be doing: 

  • Manage and monitor all horticulture process parameters and inputs including but not limited to nutrient management, irrigation activities, climate management, light recipes, etc.
  • Oversee facility IPM strategies including exclusion, crop monitoring, record keeping, preventative measures, and additional methods of control
  • Monitor and ensure proper functioning of critical horticulture equipment including sensitive analytical instruments, data management tools and controls
  • Develop and adhere to standard operating procedures and quality standards to ensure crop success
  • Train, evaluate and supervise all personnel related to horticulture processes and tasks
Qualifications: 
  • Strong leadership
  • Larger-scale production management and growing experience in any controlled environment agriculture (CEA) capacity in a greenhouse or vertical farm.
  • Hydroponic is a plus, but we are highly open on backgrounds.

Agronomy Assistant Manager for Agtegra Cooperative

A little about the business: Agtegra Cooperative is an innovative, farmer-owned grain and agronomy cooperative with more than 6,300 active member-owners in eastern North and South Dakota. In addition to offering grain and agronomy services, Agtegra offers its members aerial application services, fuel, feed, and precision ag hardware and software products and services.

What you would be doing:

  • Performs the responsibilities and functions of the location manager in the manner the location manager has directed with the location manager is not present. 
  • In coordination with the warehouse personnel account for, maintain, and reconcile all inventory of chemical, seed, and miscellaneous items on a monthly basis. 
  • Attends weekly sales and marketing meetings to ensure that information between sales and operation are communicated and understood. 
  • Assists with the sales of agronomy products and services with the sale’s manager’s approval and direction by making recommendations to walk-in customers and customers that need minimum agronomic advice and sales agronomist attention to ensure maximum efficiency from all agronomy sales. 
  • Build close relationships with every chemical representative/distributor in the area to guaranty Agtegra receives all chemical rebates earned. 

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from four-year college or university; or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CDL beneficial
